when you pick apart what Jesus actually did for people, it is mind-boggling. why would he leave heaven to be here on this awful planet? seriously.
tonight i was honestly dreading bill going to play football with guys because of grace's disobedience needs. she had been having a hard time obeying, and mama wasn't havin' it. and when you throw in daddy leaving to play football, something happens in my "wife" mind, that sounds something like this
"you get to go play fooooootball and iiiiiii have to stay home in this house and wash dishes?"
it's called PITY PARTY.
and, somehow, in spite of my normal tendency to flip my lid, the Lord gave me the sweetest gift -- the grace to ENJOY a night with just "mommy and grace". we rocked out to music and she made me laugh so hard that my stomach hurt. yeah, we have plenty of days when i lose my cool and get mad at her, and i don't model anything close to Christlikeness. but then, there are those tiny moments of redemption -- like a flower unfolding -- where i just have this sense that it is literally nothing in or of myself, but only Christ making this laughter possible at this exact moment.
life is hard, but God knows what He is doing. and boy, i'm so glad He does, cause i've proved too many times that i don't have it together! don't let the cute pictures and happy blog posts fool you, friends. i struggle. and God be praised cause for some reason He actually loves me. ;-)
