today i visited a great gathering of artists - art shop 2008 - which included my friends from the neighborhood, carina, mariko, and lois. my friend andrea and i enjoyed what i like to call "mommy time" (which means time apart from our little ones). it was our first time hanging out with(gasp!)out our children. it was pretty surreal walking towards andrea without a stroller or a diaper bag. :) andrea and i had a blast. she's a sweet friend. next month is our "one year anniversary" of being friends. (i'm strange; i keep track of these things.) we bumped into each other at the library (ah!) and exchanged info last year around this time (when i also started attending playgroup). it's crazy to see how much our kids have grown in one short year.
in november, i hosted a "craft night" at my house. (i hope it's the first of many!) we had one last month with girlfriends from church in nj. i was excited to host my own here in philly. us moms all hung out (again, sans kiddos) and showed off our various crafts. i showed my crochet, journal of grace, and lettering stuff. a few friends showed up,-- one who makes curtains, one who quilts, one who makes pretty embroidered pencil cases, and one who scrapbooks. it was a fun night of chatting and catching up with each other. we hope to do it again in january!i'm so so thankful for awesome neighborhood friends who are also moms. ;) (i drew the blue flyer. in a hurry!)
