art shop and exodus

art shop is officially over (*big sigh of relief*) and i can officially start doing house chores, like dishes and laundry! i'm so thankful i had the opportunity to do this. i got a lot of good feedback from other artists. most of all - i have a new found respect for bill. he hung out with grace a LOT (even after working long days) so that i could set up my table, and then stay there friday night and saturday. it was his idea that i make greeting cards to sell. i have truly been blessed with an amazing husband. :)

in the past few weeks, i have been reading exodus. in chapter 35, God declares the names of two men He chose to construct the tabernacle. philip graham ryken references this text in his book,
Art for God's Sake . i've been skimming through that book, and it's really helped me form a better understanding of how art can point to God - even if it's not explicitly christian. it's amazing to think of God's kindness in even giving gifts to people, like the gift of creativity. i hope to pass this on to grace someday!
