sunny skies, no humidity, low wind, and 70 degrees forever.

today grace and i trekked to elkins park, home of Tyler School of Art and a host of other memories. we hung out at a park near the elkins park train station and had a picnic lunch with a super sweet gal named danielle. nellers and i have been hanging out off & on since i graduated in '06. we had a great time hanging out and talking about girl things and God. and - to top it all off, we had great weather, and grace was so well behaved - she forgot all about the morning nap she missed. this is a picture of danielle at our house a few months ago; i forgot my camera today (again). this weather is addicting: it makes me want to stay in a permanent state of sunny skies, no humidity, low wind, and 70 degrees forever. thank you God for this weather and for the beautiful transition into fall!

on a side note: we attended playgroup on monday- grace's first successful playgroup trip in months! morning nap from 8:45-9:45, playgroup 10:30-11:30, and nap in the afternoon. it worked so well! she painted for the first time (forgot the camera, but i do have the painting!), -- she even wore a pint-sized SMOCK (a green and yellow one, which instantly reminded me of my pre-school days!). she ate the snack (usually it's too "much" for her i.e. too much dairy or something), and played super well with the other kids! i couldn't believe how well it went.

the coolest thing about playgroup was the fact that we met on the autumn equinox. one of the playgroup workers, jeannie, had this awesome idea (i think she got it from a book) that at 11:44am, the earth is "balanced", and you can place an egg on the sidewalk - and watch it stand up by itself (meaning the heavy part is on the bottom, the smaller part on top). this sounds completely ridiculous -- but, we tried it (twice; the first time it didn't work) -- and around 11:50am, it WORKED. again, no pics of this, but you'll have to trust me on this (why would i lie about an egg?!). :) google it...
