best FATHER in the HOOD

in the last 9 months, bill has been such an awesome husband, and i wanted to take a break from baby updates to take some time to tell everyone how blessed i am to have him. from the day we found out we were expecting, i know that bill has definitely grown in his faith. we have been through his job transitions and job hunting, learning how to keep a budget (and stick to it!), and lots more. through lots of changes, i have seen him keep his focus on God and strive for an 'eternal' perspective - that all we have belongs to God. he has also constantly helped me fight through many battles with anxieties about being a mother. i can't count how many times bill has let me cry on his shoulder, even sang to me once, to help me calm down. most importantly though, he always points me to God- the only one who can truly quiet my spirit. in the weeks before i started maternity leave at my job, i would come home and just sleep. bill cooked dinner, cleaned house, went for groceries, washed dishes, and lots of other tasks that i was just too tired to do after working a full day. before bed, he would always give me a hand or foot massage (sometimes both!). daily he reminds me that all i need to be a good mom is to love our baby and love God. i have no doubt in my mind that bill will be an awesome father to our baby. i am so thankful that our little one has such a godly, humble, sweet role model. i love you bill!

[ bill always wanted to be a rapper, secretly. from what i've learned in photoshop, this was the best i could do in a half hour.]

and... for those of you who are wondering-- here's a quick update on the baby: went to the doctor today, and i'm 1 cm dilated (wow, a whole NINE to go!) and 50% effaced. i'm thankful though, that's better than last week. we'll be going to the hospital on thursday night for the induction to start. i kinda wish i could have the baby in time for my dad's birthday (aug 25), but that means i'd be in labor all day on friday. hmm... the doc also said the baby's head is completely descended into my pelvis, which is a very good thing for labor. bad news, it also means i pee a lot.
